thimbles

My artwork is a collection of ten fabric thimbles with silver rings. Thimbles, as an object, with a direct connection to the human profession, became the main fulcrum - the most important professions in this artwork is a seamstress and a jeweler and their interaction. An important topic for my work is- protection, the thimble as a jewelry object that protects a person, although using it for work gradually destroys the object itself. In my work, thimble becomes not only an important object in the field of handmade sewing, but also an object that can be applied as a piece of jewelry with both visual and technological meaning within the space of jewelry and fashion. I would like to think that it is possible to play with an object, to deconstruct it, thus challenging an unconventional line of thinking about the object with its already existing and newly created properties.
